Over the years, Kids First has raised over US$100,000 thanks to efforts from au pairs, host families, LCCs and Cultural Care staff in the US and around the world.

From the smallest bake sale to a big dance party and scavenger hunts, everything makes a difference. Please find some ideas below on things that have worked in the past.

• Bake sale - this never fails, everyone loves cookies. Put a twist on it and offer cookies from around the world
• Car washes - who doesn't want a clean car?
• Garage sales/Flea markets- one person's junk is another person's treasure. Either in your drive way or get a table at a Flea Market. Have people donate items which you can sell. Sample invite here!
• Face painting - at a fair, at a party, at a school event, offer face painting and ask for donations. Practice a few good things to draw before the event.
• Talent shows - at home or at school, everyone has fun at a talent show. Sell tickets to family and friends
  

• Scavenger Hunts - these are events that everyone enjoys. Please contact Kids First for suggestions on how to set one up. Some photos from the Atlanta Scavenger Hunt here!
• A change jar - Small change can really make, well, a change. Make a cute sticker and get a jar. It's easy
• A toy sale - most kids have toys they don't use, have someone else enjoy them
• Create thank you cards - everyone needs them! Have your kids draw lovely pictures, use great photos, or simply write Thank You by hand or on your old type writer. Personal and unique.
  
• A book or DVD sale - make room for new ones and sell your old ones
• A 50/50 raffle - people donate, 50% goes to the winner, 50% goes to Kids First
• Run a 5K for Kids First - have your friends join and ask for donations
• At the office - sell snacks and fruit, everyone welcomes a pick-me-up
• A safety class - everyone wants to be safe. Donate exceeds from registration fees to Kids First
  
• Instead of a birthday gift - ask for a donation to Kids First
• Spread holiday cheer - go  caroling around the holidays
• Have a dance party - Cultural Care's Red Hot Salsa party raised close to US$4,000 
• Beach blanket bingo - now, this is a lot of fun for all ages. Check the photos for inspiration
• Holiday Gift Wrapping - who wants to wrap their own gifts when you can support Kids First by letting us do it? One LCC group collected US$476 by doing this 2009.

We accept cash at events, but please do not mail cash.
