Nutritious meals don’t just happen. They’re the result of careful planning, dedicated people, and the right tools to make it all work. We’re pleased to announce a new grant supporting Fundación Alimentar Colombia as they continue providing meals to thousands of children across Cartagena every day.

At the heart of their operation is a hub kitchen that transforms recovered surplus food into nourishing meals, which are then delivered to five community kitchens across Cartagena. But reaching these kitchens can be challenging. Some routes involve steep, rugged terrain, and one of the organization’s current trucks is old and frequently breaks down. These challenges can make it difficult to deliver meals consistently and safely, especially when that meal may be the only reliable meal a child receives that day.

The Project

This grant will fund a new refrigerated truck designed to transport food safely to each community kitchen. The truck will include a refrigerated cargo area that meets food safety standards, helping ensure that every meal arrives fresh, safe, and on time.

This new truck will make a meaningful difference for the thousands of children counting on a nutritious meal each day.
